Executive Director
Dr. N. Subramanian is serving as Executive Director, SETS since December 07, 2022. Prior to joining SETS he had served at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune as Head and Senior Director, Corporate R&D. As part of Corporate R&D he was involved in evolving the technology roadmap & mission mode programmes in emerging areas and contributed to the R&D collaboration and technology translation activities. He has specifically contributed to the cybersecurity roadmap and quantum computing and communication mission of C-DAC. His, research interests include computer & network security, computer networks & protocols, 5G/6G, quality of service, edge security, trusted AI and ICT accessibility. He has received his Ph.D. degree from International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore in the area of cybersecurity.
In the recent past, he has played key role in coordinating various government funded R&D projects in cybersecurity and other areas including eSign – online digital signing service, 5G middleware & applications based on Software Defined Network & Edge computing, AI & Cybersecurity and KAI-ICT accessibility initiative. Earlier as part of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) funded initiatives, he has led various R&D projects in cybersecurity. He has contributed towards establishment of key cybersecurity infrastructures and National level Quality of Service network test bed. He has published more than 20 papers in various National and International Journals & Conferences.
He was a member of the Task Force on “CybSec4AI”, which has been set up by Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), under the office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and contributed to the report on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. As part of TIFAC, DST and DoT committees, he has contributed towards technology foresight on cybersecurity, innovation use cases for 5G and 6G areas respectively.
As a member of IEEE SA, BIS and TSDSI, he contributes to various standardization activities. He is involved in guiding PhD, M.Tech and B.Tech students and has mentored Start-Ups as part of MeitY Hackathons. He is also a member of various technical committees of Government and member of M.Tech Review and Doctoral Committees.
